My artistic work begins with a concept that is unique and never repeated. My environment and my surroundings help inspire me in realizing these concepts. Visually transmitting them requires some skill; the medium of encaustic (wax with pigments) transmits a rich visual language, one that I am constantly discovering new ways to manipulate.
As a contemporary artist I have a responsibility to recreate and convey a universal message that sometimes is simple and sometimes is not. My deconstructive process comes from my training as an architect that marked a strong and linear style...that gives way to a new idea, from the banal and mundane to the elaborate and complex processes affecting society today
