Bio
Jacqueline Dey develops structured impasto surfaces with her gestural paintings by layering oil paints. She refers to the vocabulary of “abstract expressionism” and minimalism. The often contrasting color palettes within an image convey the impression of space and depth. If the compositions initially appear chaotic or irregular, on careful inspection they turn out to be orderly and methodical grid systems. Through her unique palette knife and gridding technique, the soft, swirling organic shapes disrupt and complement the linear patterns. With juxtapositions of this kind, Jacqueline Dey develops a dynamic, lively pictorial language with her abstract art.
Paint intuitively! Try new things, be inspired and enriched. That is Jacqueline Dey. Overcoming the limits of figurative representation, she found her fulfillment in abstract painting. She sells her expressive pictures throughout Germany. She is a member of Artfactory Graz and ArtCreation.
