A delightful creation with chinoiserie Art Deco patterns and shapes, this boudoir-sized accent lamp and beaded silk shield lampshade pairing is a 1930’s gem!
The shade on the Wren lamp is artistically created with hand-dyed silk in a gradient fade from blue to teal to gold. Each panel is overlaid with rare floral antique metal lace, and the narrow vertical panels feature antique metal net. In addition to stunning color and lace, the central panel features a fabulous chinoiserie embroidered blue wren resting on a branch, surrounded by antique embroidered flowers in soft tones. The entire shade is enveloped in fine, sparkling antique gold mesh. Trimmed with three varieties of antique metal lace in bronze. The beadwork is handstrung Czech glass, Swarovski crystals, authentic vintage cloisonne beads, and gold-plated metal beads. The sparkling crystals are simply astonishing, and the color match between beads and shade is perfection. Shade attaches to lamp with built-in clip for torpedo shaped bulbs.
The antique lamp base is a heavy 1930’s cast metal beauty featuring a golden wren in original paint. Normally, I would be inclined to paint the lamp base but this lamp is simply stunning with original untouched paint, and it matches the shade in a lovely way. The base is rewired by a certified electrician using new UL Listed parts. Medium socket, switched at cord.
