Bio

Tăvală Cătălin was born in 1996, in Sibiu city where he graduated the theoretical high school ''Octavian Goga'' 2015, at the bio-chemistry department.

In present, Cătălin is studying art at the Art and Design University in Cluj- Napoca at the graphics department.

Cătălin uses the traditional figurative drawing as the main mode of expression. He finds in the tehnique of drawing more than a daily occupation that captivates him- rather a rhythm, lifestyle, something vital that meets his need for knowledge and analysis of what is happening around him.
Drawing is a challenge for him who tries to analyze an objective image from reality to reach something subjective by specific means and this results in the creation of an intimate connection between this artistic approach, the challenge of rendering something and the artist.
The themes approached by Cătălin are so common that sometimes we do not pay attention to them and oversee them. He draws inspiration from everyday life, especially from street life, handles social themes such as poverty, the decayed man, the sin.
From a technical point of view he likes to try and discover new techniques, he likes to experiment, so his drawing is not built up by some rules, but rather it is like an alternative game of techniques.
Generally the most commonly used techniques are tar drawing and oil on canvas.
