SELLING ON ARTEBOOKING
Artebooking is an online sales and contact platform allowing collectors to buy directly from artists and art galleries.
The buying process:
- The buyer asks for artwork availability and shipping costs confirmation (1 click)
- The seller confirms availability and shipping costs to the buyer
- The buyer places an order with direct payment to the seller or secured payment to Artebooking
Shipping costs are charged to the buyer.
PAYMENT
The buyer can pay the seller directly or pay online on Artebooking.
Payment to Artebooking
- Online payment at the time of order
- Payment via bank transfer
- Online payment using a credit card or PayPal account
- Online payments on Artebooking are secured and guaranteed by Paypal
Payment directly to the seller :
- Seller and buyer agree on a method of payment
- Artebooking is not involved in this transaction and declines any liability for the transaction
- The guarantees offered by Artebooking do not apply (money back, right of withdrawal, returns & refunds) and have to be agreed between the buyer and the seller and is their responsibility alone
TRANSACTION COSTS
The price set by the seller includes all applicable taxes. Transport costs, for which the buyer is liable, will be added afterwards.
Transactions are carried out exclusively in euros (EUR) or in US dollars (USD).
The conditions for setting up online sales solutions and online payment are subject to a specific Agreement between the seller and Artebooking, which starts when the members publish items for sales online on Artebooking's platform.
These conditions are detailed bellow:
Artebooking's basic service is to offer online sales with no commission.
- When the buyer chooses to pay the seller directly without using Artebooking's online payment system, no extra charge applies.
- When the buyer selects payment through Artebooking's online payment system we ask our sellers to cover transaction processing fees of 8.5% before VAT.
This 8.5% surcharge is applied to the order total, inclusive of shipping. This 8.5% surcharge includes the payment of financial institution transaction costs, artebooking accounting costs and administration fees.
Artebooking is subject to VAT at 19%. We are obliged to charge 19% VAT on our 8.5% transaction processing fees (service provided to our sellers) to some sellers, depending on their country of residence.
VAT of 8.5% is currently chargeable by Artebooking if the following circumstances apply:
- You are resident in Germany
- You are resident in the EC (excluding Germany) but not VAT registered
SHIPPING
The seller is responsible for shipment. Shipping costs are charged to the buyer. The seller may indicate delivery tracking information on Artebooking, providing the name of the carrier, the parcel number and the approximate date of delivery.
The shipping costs charged to the buyer are calculated according to the size and weight of the work of art and the place of delivery.
TAXES
Depending on the buyer's delivery address, various taxation rules, import duties and additional charges may apply.
Buyers are solely responsible and liable for paying any and all such costs.
RETURN & MONEY BACK
Important:
Artebooking offers the possibility of free returns only when the prices are paid via online payment to Artebooking or bank transfer to Artebooking.
In the case of direct payment to the seller, the conditions of return and possible refund are directly settled between the buyer and the seller. Artebooking declines any responsibility in this regard.
Artwork can be returned within 21 days of being received under the following conditions:
- Product not delivered: the customer has not received the product
- Product not compliant: the product received does not match the product ordered
- Damaged product: the product received is damaged or broken
- The buyer exercises their right of withdrawal
The return of artwork must comply with the following conditions:
- The artwork must be returned in the state in which it was received
- In its original packaging
- Shipped back under the same conditions as it was delivered
Returns are settled directly between buyer and seller.
The buyer is liable for and must pay the cost of return shipping.
Money back & refund
Should an artwork be returned in compliance with all the above conditions, the price of the purchased artwork and the original shipping costs will be refunded to the buyer (The buyer is liable for and must pay the cost of return shipping).
Important: Artebooking offers the possibility of a refund only when the prices are paid to Artebooking via online payment to Artebooking or bank transfer to Artebooking, and that the above conditions are met.
In the case of direct payment to the seller, the terms of any refund are directly settled between the buyer and the seller. Artebooking declines any responsibility in this regard.
DISPUTES
Disputes must be solved between the buyer and the seller. The seller will still do their best to try to resolve the problem.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Buyers' confidential information related to means of payment remains strictly confidential and will never be communicated to Artebooking. The financial side of the transaction is performed by PayPal's secure service.
SECURITY & ENCRYPTION
Transport Layer Security (TLS) and its predecessor, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), are cryptographic protocols designed to provide communications security over a computer network and Internet. Artebooking uses the last TLS/SSL standard. Please note that a secure internet connection is active when your web browser address starts with "https" and not "http". We have implemented security safeguards designed to protect the personal information that you provide in accordance with industry standards. Access to your data on our Services is password-protected and data are protected by TLS/SSL encryption when exchanged between your web browser and the Artebooking Services.
INVOICE
The seller must send an invoice together with the delivery. Invoices are edited by the seller and not by Artebooking.
CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY
The buyer may ask the seller for a certificate of authenticity.
