In looking at photographic creations it dawned on me that the camera has already been taken for granted and hence photographic works usually comes from a camera. I strive to illustrate otherwise, hence I?ve decided to pursue this practice at its simplest form, only involving light, materials and chemicals.
Having practiced photography for a good part of my lifetime had left myself questioning the medium and the tools involved. Photography has been worked to death as a documentative tool, far from how much more the medium itself could become.
Nature has it that in the process of exploring the photographic medium in a very minimal way had myself amazed at what the medium itself is capable of. In questioning the way how images can be made and cast, this series of works seeks out the necessary qualities of the photographic medium in recording images and forces it to be used in a manner that defies the norm to record light and any images that may be produced with it.
The camera is now really an optional requirement--there are smartphones.
In simplifying the practice, more could be done.
