Pierluigi Di Michele, in art PierGiò.
Architect, painter and sculptor, born in Pescara in 1969. Curious and interested in the reality that surrounds him and the continuous flow and changes that follow, does not neglect an inner world, irrational and spontaneous, which brings in his works, in a continuous passage from painting to sculpture, constantly experimenting with new techniques, which sometimes embraces with conviction and stubbornness. His anthropomorphic forms, which arise from years of research, are revealing of his unconscious, which with difficulty coexists with rationality and official schemes.

The creative path begins in young age, with the participation and the attainment of several prizes and prizes ex aequo to multiple extemporaneous painting competitions. Prof. Brigida Di Leo, instructor in the Art History at the University of Studies G. D'Annunzio of Pescara, reviewing one of his works writes: 'The little elephant responds to the research of innovation carried out by PierGiò in all his works especially in anthropomorphic forms. The animal that seems to have an ironically human look is reduced to the essentials in the face and dissected in the body and in many black strips joined by red elements that weld them almost to rebuild a body that in any case is nothing more real. Even the technique, oil and watercolor joined together on jute canvas, gives the work a character of originality. The figure stands out on a polychrome background consisting of a dripping of colors that, in addition to achieving a remarkable chromatic harmony, produce a jutting effect so that the shape represented seems almost to leave its natural site, the canvas, to fit into the real world of the spectator '.
In 1999 the first official recognition by the International Academy of Modern Art in Rome, then numerous exhibitions: Florence, at the Gadarte Association; Rome, at the International Academy of Modern Art; Barcelona; Pescara, at the University of Studies G. D'Annunzio.
Aware of the indispensable role that art plays in society, in his hometown he contributes to the birth of the group of artists of 'Open Forms', one of the most interesting voices in the artistic panorama of Pescara and Abruzzo, both for experimentation and for research aesthetics put in place.
The artistic note and the quotations already since 2002 were published in several Catalogs, such as L'Elite, Italian Art Selection and the International Academy of Modern Art, his presence in numerous magazines: Contemporary Art Collection, Boè, L'Elite and Art Effect, etc.
He has collaborated with artists and critics in various collective and personal exhibitions, in Italy and abroad. The most recent at the Accademia Internazionale Dei Dioscuri (where he obtained the recognition of 'Ambassador of the Art in the Mediterranean 2016') and at the MIIT Museum in Turin; the international art festival in Rome ArtExpo; the prestigious presence at the Triennale of Contemporary Art in Verona, at the 'meArt' in Palermo in the special section of the Levi Museum, at the 'Contemporanei in the Uffizi City' in Florence and at the 'Contemporanei in the Bramante' halls in Rome. Present at the second 'Bienal de Arte Barcelona' at the MEAM in Barcelona.
Many achievements, including the 'Berlin International Prize' in the French Church of Französische Friedrichstadtkirche in Berlin, the 'International Art Prize Milan 2017', the 'International Prize Raffaello 2018' and the First Prize 'International Art Palermo 2018', during which the excellent art critic Paolo Levi tells about him: 'Multifaceted artist, Pierluigi Di Michele in art PierGiò, realizes works that go beyond the simple visual representation. His compositions are articulated and original, characterized by interesting combinations of shapes, volumes and symbols dictated by the symbiotic harmony between his inner perception and his creative impulse. A way of approaching art that can undoubtedly be called courageous, instinctive and worthy of praise '.
Two lithographs inserted between 'The Artists in the Sgarbi Collection' in the Collection of Prints and Drawings by Vittorio Sgarbi, which writes about the artist PierGiò: 'The history of a collection is theories of occasions, meetings, discoveries, crosses with curiosity, research, studies. The presence of his work in the collection of prints and drawings of my collection attests the validity of his stylistic commitment '. And again on the occasion of the Milan International Art Prize: 'The selection of his work on the occasion of this prestigious project attests the value of his stylistic research in the contemporary art scene. His presence confirms that creativity is one of the most important forms of transmission of knowledge '.
The art blogger Elena Gollini writes about him: 'Piergiò offers us a valuable opportunity to embrace direct participation in the narrative scenario and full and total empathy, allowing us to become part of his whole and to be united by the same inexhaustible curiosity towards the world and what is part of our existential complexity. An artistic lesson that of Pergiò of great openness and inclination toward who welcomes and cherish as him the sense of Beauty and Beautiful with a forward-looking perspective, without limiting themselves to the strictly aesthetic and visual impact, but orienting and channeling a balanced and balanced mix of constitutive factors, which make the difference at the sensory and tactile level '.
Glowing review by the critic, essayist and editor Sandro Serradifalco: '... Narrating through the canvas, telling through the colors, reflecting through the form, are all things that make the master Di Michele become the interpreter of a new way of make art; innovative in the techniques, materially exploits the color giving thickness and three-dimensionality to many of his works and this because the idea of stimulating the other senses beyond sight, helps the instant to investigate trying to understand and find the right keys to read that reveal the mystery of his paintings ... In his works emerges the amazing fruitfulness of a creative fantasy, capable of amplifying the aesthetic and spiritual values captured by reality to convey them in a universal message of breath '.

Still Stefania Bison, art historian: 'Pierluigi Di Michele is one of those artists who can show a full-ranging creativity without risking failure in any attempt. Colored works, brilliant and with particular workmanship, distinguish his work that touches different themes and different styles, without neglecting the abstract expressionism or in any case what is a direct appendix of the most classic informal style. Some works see the particular use of materials other than color, such as fabrics or plastic materials; the choice of giving body and three-dimensionality to some works becomes cautious when the artist himself manages to balance its existence, indeed the coexistence, with a two-dimensional plane that can be the support or the chromatic base. Original works, contemporary messages and a valuable sign are the cornerstones of his production '.
